Hein Schumacher will be the new CEO of the Swiss-Belgian chocolate manufacturer Barry Callebaut. After leaving Unilever almost a year ago, the former FrieslandCampina CEO has found a new home in the international food sector.
Barry Callebaut cites his track record of growth, culture, and value creation as a key reason for his appointment. According to Schumacher, the company is at a turning point after a period of significant market turbulence due to high cocoa prices. He wants to focus on strengthening the balance sheet, further serving customers, and realizing sustainable long-term value.
Schumacher was CEO of FrieslandCampina from 2018 until mid-2023. He then left for Unilever, where he worked until the end of February last year.
