The Cabinet is allocating €25 million from the LVVN budget to reduce the agricultural and horticultural sector's dependence on energy and fertilizers in the future. Renure is cited as an example. The concrete measures are still being worked out.
The cabinet announced measures today to mitigate the economic consequences of the situation in the Middle East. The Netherlands will not lower excise duties, like Germany and Ireland. However, the excise duty on alcohol will be increased (through indexation).
The Cabinet wants to make the fisheries and agricultural sectors 'more resilient and shock-resistant' in the longer term. €25 million is also being made available for an energy efficiency scheme for the fisheries sector, which will be opened in the third quarter.
Grey license plate pays half road tax
As of July 1, the motor vehicle tax for delivery vans owned by entrepreneurs will be halved for six months. For trucks, it will be completely waived for six months. In addition, the travel allowance will be increased from 23 to 25 cents per kilometer (retroactively for the entire year 2026). This is expected to result in a benefit of approximately 30 cents per liter. Employers are requested to cooperate with this.
Furthermore, over the coming months, the cabinet will enter into discussions with the transport, food, and supermarket sectors regarding the impact of higher energy prices on grocery prices. The economic consequences of the current energy shock for the fisheries and agricultural sectors are also being monitored.
