For pencycuron, 1 of the active substances in Subliem, an application for a new MRL is still pending at the EFSA (European Food and Safety Agency).
A decision on this application would have been taken long ago in a normal review process. Unfortunately, at this point it is still unclear when the treatment will take place. It is therefore certain that the new MRL will not be in force for next season. The statutory deadlines for decision-making and publication no longer allow for this.
Available for seed potatoes
Subliem will remain available for use in seed potatoes for the coming season, subject to the restrictions of the W2 label. This restriction prohibits human and animal consumption of cultivated potatoes, which means that oversized seed potatoes and potatoes originating from rejected seed potato plots may not be brought into the consumption or feed channel.
