High phytophthora pressure requires immediate action
With the current changeable weather, which is accompanied by very heavy showers and sometimes thunderstorms, the chance of phytophthora is enormous. Action is now required for a curative effect, spore killing and tuber protection.
Phytophthora pressure will not decrease in the near future. The KNMI predicts rainy weather for the next 14 days. After the heavy rainfall of the last week, sources are already present everywhere, probably also of the dangerous isolates EU_36 and/or EU_37. In short: it is all hands on deck to maintain further potato production and to protect the tubers already present against tuber disease. Infinito is the appropriate tool for that.
Result in demo test
In the demo trial in Dordrecht, the differences in the various weekly schedules are clearly visible. Phytophthora has crept into the crop, especially with non-curative products in the preliminary phase, despite drought. The old infections are now continuing. The Infinito blocks still perform excellently given the heavy pressure (see image with the untreated strip in the foreground).
Under the current circumstances, the advice is to use 1,2 to 1,6 liters of Infinito and 0,2 kilos of Curzate Partner per hectare. Apply the higher Infinito dose in case of increased infection pressure and phytophthora infections present. If conditions permit, apply 'stop' sprays of multiple applications with shorter intervals as soon as possible if phytophthora is present.
