Effective weed control in wheat and barley starts in the autumn. Herold is extremely effective in this regard.
Getting through the winter clean provides the crop with a problem-free start. With a somewhat heavier weed pressure, this yields a higher yield than when the weeds are only controlled in the spring.
Herald controls problem weeds. The product is strong against grasses such as dusk, windhalm and annual meadow grass and broadleaf weeds such as speedwell, purple dead nettle and ragwort. Root weeds can be optimally controlled in the spring.
The use of Herold guarantees effective resistance management. It prevents the unnoticed 'selection out' of ALS* or ACC-ase**-resistant weeds. By using Herold in the autumn, there is also less work stress in the busy spring. After all, the weeds in the grain have already been controlled.
Advice application autumn
The following applies to the clay: 'Sowing time is Herold time!' You can spray immediately after sowing. Herold's soil action benefits from the moisture still present in the freshly prepared soil.
On lighter soils and on loess, as well as in winter barley, Herold should always be used in early post-emergence. The best moment to apply is the so-called 'point stage' when the wheat has emerged.
Advantages Herold
Herold may be used both before and after emergence, has a user-friendly formulation, is permitted in all winter cereals and may also be used in groundwater protection areas. With Herold, the maximum required amount of flufenacet may be applied. Take advantage of these advantages by preferably applying 0,6 liters per hectare.
