The Board for the Authorization of Plant Protection Products and Biocides (Ctgb) has granted authorization for Rudis as a soil treatment for sowing in onions, shallots and garlic. Soil-borne diseases are an increasing problem.
To keep soil-borne diseases manageable, several measures are necessary, such as choice of field, crop rotation, industrial hygiene, choice of variety and storage. The authorization of Rudis is an important part of the total package of measures to keep soil-borne diseases, such as white rot (see images below) and Fusarium, under control.
Application
Rudis may be incorporated before sowing at a dose of 0,6 liters per hectare. It is preferable to carry out the final tillage application before sowing. In order to protect aquatic organisms, application in onions, garlic and shallots (soil treatment) in plots adjacent to surface water is only permitted if a technique from at least class DRT90 is used on the entire plot.
