Phosphate reduction plan limited to dairy farms

State Secretary Van Dam recently announced in a letter that he had decided, in consultation with the sector, to limit the scheme to milk-producing companies. Non-dairy farms are exempt from the 2017 phosphate reduction plan.

On 17 February 2017, as part of the phosphate reduction package of measures, the Phosphate Reduction Plan Regulation was published in the Government Gazette. The scheme would apply to both milk-producing and non-milk-producing farms. In consultation with the sector, the State Secretary has now decided to limit the scheme to milk-producing companies.
