Every year, Flynth supports customers in the agricultural sector in completing the Combined Statement (GO). Normally this is already a considerable amount of work. But this year we see that completing it takes three times as much time. This is partly due to the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). We'll tell you more about it.
In recent years, filling in the plot boundaries for the GO was a job that only applied to new plots. But once the plots were properly registered, filling them in the following year was a lot easier. Since 1 January 2023, the CAP has changed considerably. The whole system is different and there are many more schemes. Think of the eco-regulations that are difficult to fathom.
Sound the alarm to RVO and the minister
In addition, the online system at RVO, in which you have to fill in the GO, is not yet working properly. Together with other organisations, we have previously raised these points with RVO via the Association of accountants and tax consultancy firms (VLB). But we find the response and action from RVO so far really insufficient.
That is why we have now sent an urgent letter to the minister from VLB. We have expressed our concerns and proposed solutions. The letter argues for a significant reduction in the number of cases that must be included in the Combined Statement before May 15 and also for a substantial extension of the statement period. In addition, we propose to give farmers the opportunity after May 15, until November 30, 2023 at the latest, to provide an exact statement, including the eco-activities carried out. We believe that previously unreported eco-activities should also be included in this. And in addition to ample leniency, we advocate the use of advance payments, so that not all checks have to be carried out by RVO before payment is made.
