Legalization program PAS reporters

24 December 2024

The legal term of the PAS notifications legalization program may be extended by three years. Minister Wiersma recently announced a bill for this purpose. This would mean that PAS reporters will be in uncertainty until the end of 2028.

The measures to reduce nitrogen, such as innovation and buying up companies, have not yet yielded enough. Another important rule for permits is that nitrogen reduction may only be used to make room for new activities if this is not necessary to protect Natura 2000 areas and achieve the conservation objectives.

New Approach
Minister Wiersma wants to find a solution via three tracks:

  1. Arithmetic lower limit
  2. Individual route
  3. Government commitment

Read more about these three tracks and the PAS notifications legalization program.

Prevent your right to compensation from expiring
The importance of timely interrupting the limitation period of the PAS damage desk has been discussed earlier. The minister indicated that all affected PAS reporters are entitled to compensation. However, we advise interrupting the limitation period yourself, even if the five-year limitation period has expired. Do you want to apply for compensation? Then map out now what and how much damage you have in your situation.

Want to know more?
Due to the new course of the government, it is wise to investigate your individual route for obtaining a nature permit. Start this and do not wait for possible legalization from the government. External balancing offers the main possibilities. Would you like to know more about (the legal term of) the legalization program PAS notifications or the possibilities for external balancing?
