Impact of own roughage production continues to grow

The figures provided by accountants invariably show that dairy farms that achieve the best returns are also at the top in terms of roughage production. Just like in the stable, in roughage cultivation it comes down to craftsmanship.


Within study groups there are differences of 15 to 20% roughage yield within the same region. The impact on the cost price per liter of milk is large, and possibly even greater, when the usable space is linked to the roughage yield.
