Fodder beet cultivation is making a comeback in Dutch livestock farming. More and more livestock farmers are discovering the many advantages of the crop in terms of feed value yield, taste and feed quality. Limagrain is the largest breeder of real fodder beets in the Benelux and Great Britain. In contrast to refined sugar beets, real fodder beets have a relatively low sugar content, smooth shape and very good storability. More than half of the acreage in the Netherlands is sown annually with 'LG Rialto'.
