Agricultural entrepreneurs can now buy diesel for a price below €0,80 per litre. That is special, because the diesel price has not been this low for years.
A diesel price of less than €0,80 is offered by Farmers4All and LTO Members Advantage (the latter with a purchase of 2.200 to 4.000 litres). The price drop is related to the free fall in oil prices worldwide, such as the Brent Crude Oil index.
This global index temporarily fell more than 10% to below $20 a barrel. In the United States, US oil was even negative for a period last week. Buyers could get $40 per barrel there for purchase. There is very little storage capacity available for oil. Not just in the United States, but worldwide.
Strengthening effect
The Brent Crude Oil Index is at its latest level in 20 years. The corona crisis and a conflict between the oil-producing and exporting OPEC countries and Russia reinforce each other at exactly the same time.
