Harvester manufacturer Ropa demonstrated their three-axle Euro-Tiger beet harvester in Southern Flevoland last autumn. The company itself was also curious how it was doing on the clay soil around Zeewolde. Photo: N. van der Boom
Contractor B. Hut drove the machine for several weeks. Next to their Agrifac Big Six, the yellow harvesting monster stands out like a colossus. On the weighbridge, however, it comes out lower and the difference in length is only 50 centimeters. Photo: N. van der Boom

This John Deere 7710 is probably twenty years old, but you can't tell. At contractor Van de Put in Oosterwolde, Gelderland, he was still shining. Photo: N. van der Boom
Van de Put has been experimenting with strip cultivation in maize in recent years. For this it uses a Swiss Baertschi machine with a Monosem maize seed drill behind it. The machine can directly apply microgranules. Photo: N. van der Boom

The beautiful autumn weather ensured that contractor Schuttert from Ommen was able to press grass into the bale on 31 October. Not a big fifth or sixth cut, but that way the sod goes into the winter nicely short. Photo: R. Pekkeriet

Winter touch to show season

9 January 2017 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

For a while it was (again) winter in the Netherlands. Dealer shows were also given a wintery touch and a few tractors could be seen in the field. Furthermore, it is only busy in the barns with an open day, show or regular maintenance of course.
