Sometimes a heavy shower of hail fell locally. This plot was relatively spared, but according to insiders there are also plots with 100% leaf fall.
Further in the south of Limburg it is easy to see what the heavy precipitation in the hilly area can do.
In addition to the damage, there are also fears for the soil herbicides, which have also lost their usefulness.

Flooded plots after thunderstorms

Severe thunderstorms have caused havoc in Limburg. The showers were accompanied by large amounts of rain and hail. It is striking that the damage is very local. The damage is clearly visible the next day in the potato and sugar beet plots.

The heaviest showers fell in the afternoon and evening of Tuesday 22 May around Sittard and Eindhoven. Locally, there was also a lot of hail. Around Eindhoven, the counter even comes to almost 60 millimeters, although in Limburg it is also over 50 millimeters spoken.

The water flows to the low-lying areas, carrying a large load of mud with it. This has caused damage to sugar beets and potatoes, among other things, according to photos submitted on 23 May.The southeast had to deal with heavy thunderstorms.
