Early on, the first visitors trickled into the conference location (Flint in Amersfoort).
Time to catch up before the conference starts.
The program booklets are studied.
Day chair Femke Wolthuis opens the conference in a musical way.
She is accompanied by sidekick Eric Bergsma on the wing.
A full AFAS room with agricultural entrepreneurs and people from agribusiness.
The first speaker is Cor Pierik of CBS. He explains the income estimate of Wageningen Economic Research and the Agricultural Census.
Linda de Bie of Wageningen Economic Research takes a closer look at the incomes presented earlier that day. That leads to interesting conclusions.
During the break, Jeen Nijboer of Rabobank will give a TED talk about the Global Farmers initiative.
After all the economic figures, it is up to science journalist Hidde Boersma to explain how intensifying agriculture can save nature.
Questions can be asked from the audience by means of a so-called catchbox.
The fourth and final speaker is economist Jaap van Duijn. "I am in favor of a free market, but I am in favor of limiting production within agriculture". That is one of his interesting conclusions.
As a special closing, Willeke Alberti will perform a specially tailored song, with DCA director Kees Maas as the second voice.
The 4 speakers have shown, with good numerical support, which economic influences are essential for agriculture.
Then it is time for the network drink, which is gratefully used.
While enjoying a beer and a bitterbal.
