Onions on plot Kimswerd in

29 September 2020 - Kimberly Bakker

The onions on the Gewastour plot in Kimswerd (Friesland) were removed from the field last week and driven into the shed. "The onions went into the shed in beautiful, dry conditions," reports the grower. "Now we put the stove in front of it and hope that they will get a nice color."

The grower is also satisfied with the expected yield. "It is expected to be between 50 and 60 tons, which is in line with the trial harvests." The gross yield was 53,13 tons. The onion grower does not know the exact tare percentage. "At least it's low, because there's no soil or other junk in it."
