Consequences of drought noticeable in Limburg

The consequences of the drought are noticeable on the potato plot in Bocholtz, which participates in the Boerenbusiness Crop tour. This is mainly reflected in the fact that the plants are starting to change colour.

Earlier it appeared that the crop was slightly lighter became. Flexfertilizer was then administered to give the crop a boost. That's where the difference starts in vitality between the different plots in any case to increase.

Maximum temperature
On the potato plot in Bocholtz, the maximum temperature has already risen 1 times above 12 degrees Celsius since 25 July. However, that does not make it the warmest plot, because the plots in EscharenHank en Fijnaart more often showed a higher maximum temperature. On the plot in Scharendijke, a maximum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius was even measured on 30,4 July. 

Until now, the average temperature on the plot in Bocholtz was 19,5 degrees Celsius, more than 1 degree warmer than the average of all plots (18,5 degrees Celsius). However, here too the temperature was higher on other plots. The average temperature on the plot in Fijnaart was 1,6 degrees Celsius above average.

Irrigate
On the plot in Bocholtz is also irrigated. A total of 50 millimeters was given, and that is spread over 2 times. Also on the plot in Middenmeer was watered for the first time.
