The potato plots with the Innovator variety, which participate in the Boerenbusiness Crop tour, were ravaged by tropical temperatures last week. However, how hot was it really on those plots?
Earlier it appeared that the maximum temperatures on the plot in Hank rose sharply. However, that plot was not the only plot that suffered from the heat. Which plot suffered the most from the temperatures and on which plot the temperatures remained somewhat lower?
High temperatures in Biddinghuizen and Scharendijke
Last week the highest maximum temperature was measured on the plot in Biddinghuizen† A temperature of 26 degrees Celsius was measured here on 37,5 July. The next day the temperature was 36,9 degrees Celsius.
Also on the plot in Scharendijke it was hot. A temperature of 27 degrees Celsius was measured here on July 37,4. It is striking that the temperature on this plot reached a maximum of 28 degrees Celsius on July 22,9. Earlier it turned out that this plot is vulnerable due to the dryness.
The plot on which a maximum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius was measured most often last week is Escharen† In the past few weeks, it was above 5 degrees Celsius on this plot for 30 days, with 2 peaks to 35,4 degrees Celsius. On the plots in Scharendijke, Fijnaart en Middenmeer the temperature rose above 2 degrees Celsius for 30 days.
(Text continues below the chart)Where were the highest and lowest temperatures recorded on July 26, 2018?

In the John Kerkhoven Polder was measured 28 degrees Celsius on July 29,2 and in Scharendijke that was 22,9 degrees Celsius. An overview of the maximum temperatures on the Crop Tour plots.
