On the plots of the Boerenbusiness Crop tour was done in week 31 trial harvesting. Earlier it appeared that there is a difference of 44 tons between the highest and the lowest yield. What does the plot in the Johannes Kerkhovenpolder show?
On the plot in the John Kerkhoven Polder 3 meters were lifted 1,33 times and a total of 9,1 kilos was finally lifted. The yield is estimated at 30,3 tons per hectare, with 10% already deducted for harvest loss, headlands and spray tracks. It means that the yield is almost 14 tons per hectare lower than the average yield of all plots participating in the Crop Tour (44,2 tons per hectare).
The potatoes were planted April 21. Part of the plot was planted in size 35/45 and the rest was planted in size 45/55. The distance for size 35/45 is 33,6 centimeters and for the coarser seed potato size, planting is done at a distance of 42 centimeters. The plot in the Johannes Kerkhovenpolder was irrigated once. Earlier it turned out that the difference between the sizes clearly visible is.
The revenues
If we look at the distribution of the yield, we see that 10% falls in the measure 65 upwards (3 tubers). The 60/65 seed also produces 3 tubers (5% of the yield) and the 55/60 size yields 15 tubers, which is 27% of the total yield. Approximately 32% of the total yield falls in the size 50/55. This concerns 21 tubers, good for 2,9 kilos.
In the 45/50 grade, 18 tubers were counted, which means a weight of 1,8 kilos. This is roughly 20% of the total revenue. The last 5% of the yield falls in sizes 35/40 and 40/45 (about 0,5 kilo). It underwater weight on this plot amounted to 470 grams. An overview of the yields in the Johannes Kerkhovenpolder.
