De Boerenbusiness Crop tour is coming to an end. However, the crops on the plots have in many cases been at an end for some time, and the crops are sometimes even scorched. Yield reductions are therefore becoming increasingly apparent.
On the potato plots of the Boerenbusiness Trial harvests were carried out again in week 36. Although the exact data will be announced in week 37, it is already clear that the revenues are about 25% lower than the average achieved in 2017.
The Crop Tour will be concluded on Friday 14 September with a seminar at AgroTechniek Holland in Biddinghuizen. In the run-up to this, various data from the trial harvests will be announced (such as the number of tonnes per hectare and the underwater weights).
Differences between plots
In any case, it can be concluded that the differences between the plots remain as great as ever. For example, the potato plot in Spijk is still green, while the potatoes on the plot in the Johannes Kerkhovenpolder (which is half an hour's drive away) are completely scorched.
The difference mainly has to do with possible irrigation. The plot in Spijk was irrigated 6 times, while in the Johannes Kerkhovenpolder it was only 1 time. The type of soil also clearly makes a difference, because it is clearly heavier in Spijk.

The plot in Spijk still looks green, but is sprayed to death on September 8, 2018.
Differences in the lots
There are not only differences between the plots, because there are also clear differences within the plots. This is clearly visible on the plot in Biddinghuizen. A harvesting demonstration will also be done on this plot, after the seminar at AgroTechniek Holland.
The differences within the potato plot in Biddinghuizen are large.
