Onions were also sown on the Crop tour plot in Dronten (Flevoland) last week. This is the third plot, of all Crop Tour plots, that has been sown. The seeds are now germinating on the plots that were sown first.
Sowing was done on the plot of Aeres Farms in Dronten on Friday, April 5. The seedbed was laid with a speed harrow and 3,8 units were sown on 1,5 meter beds. The onions planted are of the 'Hyway' variety, which is a mid-early variety.

In Oeffelt (North Brabant) the seed germinated 1 week after sowing. The plot received approximately 2,5 millimeters of rainfall in the week after sowing. The plot in Kortgene (Zeeland) also received 2,5 millimeters of rain, the data shows weather data from last week. Most of the seed has germinated, although the seed that is located more shallowly has more difficulty.
The remaining plots will be sown next week, despite the expectation that temperatures will drop. It is expected to remain dry in most areas. Last week an average of 5,64 millimeters of rain fell.
