A second pipe was visible on every onion plot of the Crop Tour last week. A third pipe has now been added to most onion plots. The warmth has been good for the plots, but moisture is still desirable.
Some precipitation fell on the various plots last week, which benefits the development of the onions. In the hope that some rain will fall again in the coming days, fertilizer has been spread on the plot in Dronten (Flevoland) and Zweeloo (Drenthe).
The third pipe
On the plot in Zeewolde Except for (Flevoland), the third pipe is present on all plots. In the onion plot in Kortgene (Zeeland) the fourth pipe has even been observed on some plants, although there are also several plants with 2 pipes (due to bisexuality). Fortunately, the risk of damage due to weed control is no longer an issue on this plot.
Grass and barley
The plot in Zweeloo (Drenthe) also produces quite a bit of grass and barley. This was sprayed with Centurion last week.
Soil herbicide
The onion plot in Oeffelt (North Brabant) was sprayed on Friday, May 31, to supplement the soil herbicide. This plot is now quite clean. The last potato storage will be further renovated at the beginning of this week.
