Onions are growing well

After a dry and cold start to the spring, the onions on the Crop Tour plots have benefited from the precipitation. How are you doing?

When we look at the past 2 weeks, all plots of the Boerenbusiness Crop tour Onions had the necessary precipitation. Especially in East Brabant and North Holland a lot of precipitation fell during that period.

duality 
On the plot in Kortgene (Zeeland) there is a duality. About 70% of the onions have emerged well. These onions are growing well and are in the sixth pipe. However, the rest of the plot remains somewhat behind. In these places the onions only have 3 pipes. 

Temperature
On the onion plot in Tollebeek (Flevoland) the onions are now starting to grow well and now have 3 to 4 pipes. This week the plot will be sprayed for the first time against downy mildew. The average temperature on the plot over the past 7 days was 16 degrees Celsius.

On the plot in Oeffelt (North Brabant) it took a long time for growth to get going. However, a lot has happened in the past 2 weeks and the onions have grown considerably. On Friday 14 June, this plot was sprinkled with fertilizer and the plot received 10 millimeters of precipitation.
