On Thursday, June 20, a number of potato plants were dug up on 3 Crop Tour plots. Plants (with an equal number of stems) treated with PhysiomaX and untreated plants were compared. The rooting and the fine uptake roots were more visible in objects that received this root hair stimulating calcium (300 kilograms per hectare).
On the Crop Tour plots in Escharen, Voorst and Goor, the soil was still moist on Thursday, June 20, because approximately 1 millimeters of precipitation had fallen the day before. In the coming months, moisture will become the determining factor for filling the existing tubers. There were sufficient tubers and tubers under the plant on each plot. In short: the potential is there.
Damp soil
The moist soil was excellent for lifting the entire plant (with roots and tubers) with a rake. However, many fine hair roots always remain at the bottom of the back, because they are vulnerable and break off quickly when they stick out.
Rooting
The hair roots (absorption roots) are necessary to obtain better moisture, especially in times of drought. At a glance, the treated plants had better root penetration. The trial harvesting, which will take place later this season, will show the differences in yield and underwater weight on the different soil types.
