What is the status of the Innovator plots?

June 26, 2019 - 1 reaction

All participating potato plots of the Crop Tour were visited on Thursday 20 June and Friday 21 June. Below is an overview of the progress on 5 of those plots.

On all potato plots of the Crop Tour of Boerenbusiness 3 potato plants were harvested. The stems and tubers of those plants were then counted. The results of this 'trial grubbing-up' are summarized in this article.

The plot in Spijk
The Crop Tour plot in Spijk (Groningen) was not planted until late (April 26) and had sugar beets as pre-fruit. The potatoes are in good shape for the time of year and still have a lot of potential for extra tuber setting. The crop looks vital and has a healthy foliage package that is almost closed.
