Sencrop and Trimble help growers with smarter choices

6 July 2020

Perform the right operation on a field at just the right time. This becomes even more realistic for users of the Sencrop agro-weather stations. Sencrop has been selected as a Trimble Select Partner for Agriculture. This increases the possibilities to collect, share and manage weather data and increase efficiency on the farm.

Information about temperature, wind speed, humidity and precipitation is essential for agricultural entrepreneurs to make the right choice for their crops. This weather data is accessible to all growers with Sencrop weather stations. Users have direct access to real-time climate data and to plot-specific weather conditions information from all connected weather stations on their smartphone or computer.

Decisions based on data
Sencrop is a leader in field-connected agro-weather systems. Combining Sencrop's systems with Trimble's solutions creates significant benefits for precision farmers. Based on weather data, they can make decisions about when to perform various operations, such as plowing, planting and harvesting.

As part of the Trimble Select partner program, Sencrop's online agro-weather stations will be available to customers through the Trimble and Vantage™ distribution networks in the European Union and the United Kingdom. “Trimble's distribution network in Europe contributes to our goal of providing farmers with an integrated digital service and innovative solutions,” said Martin Ducroquet and Michael Bruniaux, founders of Sencrop. "It allows them to make better decisions about how to cultivate their fields, aligned with Trimble's product line."

Extension
By partnering with Trimble, Sencrop aims to increase its number of agro-weather stations and expand its partner network. An extensive network gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to intensify or improve the precision of the operations on their plots by sharing weather data between all Sencrop weather stations. Five months ago, Sencrop also announced the acquisition of sensor specialist Visio-Green, bringing the total to more than 12.000 stations in Europe.

Trimble is also pleased with Sencrop's partnership. “As a major player in the European market for online agro-weather data, Sencrop provides the optimal technology for precise, efficient and ecologically sound farming. This aligns with Trimble's mission to help farmers with precision farming technology save costs, increase yields and environmentally friendly," says Kevin Barkow.
