Irrigation not yet necessary on potato plots
On the plots of the Boerenbusiness Crop tour rain fell for the potatoes last week. Growers look at their reels with an oblique eye. Is the rain of the past week enough not to start irrigating yet or will the reels be taken out of the stable?

Moisture sensors indicate enough moisture
Hank has had the least rainfall in the past 7 days. "I have moisture sensors in the field and these indicate that I do not need to irrigate for the time being," the grower tells Boerenbusiness† Last weekend, the grower received another 8 millimeters, so for the time being there will be no irrigation on the plot in Hank.
Reel is ready in plot
On the plot in Dronten, the reel is ready at the plot. "At the moment, about 2 to 3 millimeters per day evaporate. Last week's precipitation was enough to keep the potatoes busy," says the grower from Dronten. The grower thinks it is blowing too hard at the moment and will not irrigate yet because of possible damage to the plot with this wind. When the wind has died down, the grower wants to see whether it is necessary to irrigate.
Flowering stopped
The plot has stopped blooming on the plot in Cuijk. About a week and a half ago, the plot had almost finished flowering and that has now happened. The plot was also sprayed with fungicide and nutrients last week. The grower has sprayed with 0,5 liter Narita, 2,5 kg Profilux, 5 kg Nicrotop, 5 kg Urea and 5 liters Kalkali.

Phytophthora spraying in Scharendijke
The grower has carried out his weekly phytophthora spraying on the plot in Scharendijke. The grower has done this with Nautile. Nutrients were also added for the potatoes. The nutrients were Epso Microtop.
