2020 was a year full of extremes. We kicked off with a bone-dry spring, then the crops suffered from hail and extreme showers before being treated to an unprecedented heat wave in August. What has this done to the crops and what is the market expectation for this already special year?
In the Crop Tour Boerenbusiness Followed 10 parcels of Innovators and 7 parcels of onions spread over the Netherlands for a season. Using photos, videos and data, we flew over the fields to see how the crops are doing and what the differences are between the regions and compared to other years. Drought, duality, hail damage, crop protection, it all happened this year.
Season end on September 24th
The season is now coming to an end, the potatoes and onions are already off the land here and there. Time to take stock. Unfortunately, due to corona, we cannot invite you to our annual closing day on location, so we are turning it into an online event. In this way we offer you the opportunity to watch live and to participate.
On 24 September from 12.15 hours Kees Maas and Pieter Post will update you on the market expectation and price forecast for potatoes and onions and they will answer your questions about the market live. Also the partners of the Boerenbusiness Crop Tour share their expertise and findings this season.
Do you have any questions for our experts regarding the season or the market outlook? Put them live on the broadcast on September 24 or email them to editorial@boerenbusiness. Nl
