Many arable farmers are interested in precision agriculture. Crop monitoring, soil maps and irrigation advice are step one. But in practice it is often difficult to have affordable, high-quality data that is also practically usable. BioScope provides you with good quality data that is simple and affordable through the FieldScout tool.
FieldScout works with images from so-called High Density satellites. They make images of the Netherlands every day. The many satellite images that are made of a field during the year together form a film, as it were, of the growth of the crop. This allows you to immediately see where and when a crop is left behind.
With various available maps (including Biomass, Nitrogen, Elevation, Performance, Scouting) you can find out what could be the cause of parcel parts lagging behind or, conversely, being ahead in places.
Performance map
An example of a map in FieldScout is the Achievement map. This map looks at the entire previous growing season as a summary or annual report. The map provides insight into the yield potential of a plot and the differences therein.
Colors on this map indicate where the highest (dark green) and lowest (dark red) amount of biomass grew during the past season. The legend shows the distribution in percentage terms. White is 100% for that particular plot.
Get started with FieldScout yourself
During the Crop Tour, BioScope also shares experiences and learnings from FieldScout with and from the participants in the Crop Tour. But it is of course even more interesting to discover everything about your own plots. That is why you now receive the first 10 hectares for free with the basic subscription.
This 10 hectares is easy to activate by following these steps:
