Summer Storm Poly
On July 5, summer storm Poly raged from the southwest to the northeast of the country. The heaviest wind gust, of 146 kilometers per hour, was measured that day by the KNMI in IJmuiden. The highest wind speeds were measured along the coast and a lot of rain fell locally, especially in the center and north of the country. Storm Poly is one of the top 7 strongest summer storms since 1970. The storm had a lot of impact on trees and other obstacles. A lot of wheat has also been flattened by the storm.
Expected August
The weather forecast for the first half of August still looks changeable. Just like at the end of July, showers from the west pass over our country every day and it can also be quite windy. We should not expect summer temperatures at the beginning of August. The weather charts for the second half of August look better with higher temperatures. The volatility is gradually decreasing, Weeronline expects.
It is hoped that the volatility will change to stable weather as soon as possible, so that the wheat harvest can be started in the north of the country and the wheat harvest can be completed in the rest of the country.
