Cosun extends scheme

Fewer fluctuations due to broader base UB

16 February 2017 - Redactie Boerenbusiness

As of this year, Cosun will be overhauling the Beet Delivery Benefit Scheme. Dirk de Lugt, chairman of the Board of Directors of Royal Cosun, reported this during the presentation of the annual figures for 2016.

The scheme always covered 15 years, including the last three years. That has now been extended to 7 years. 'It is not right that there are farmers with very high benefits and with low ones. By looking at the last 7 years, the fluctuations in the future are less pronounced.'

From this year, the adjustment will be introduced step by step. For this year, this means that the base has been extended by 1 year to 4 years. The build-up will take place until 2020.
