Acquisition of Agrifirm in Poland approved

11 September 2017 - Clarisse van der Woude

The acquisition of the Polish compound feed company Bacutil by Agrifirm has been completed. The Polish competition authority approved the request, after which the final agreements were signed on August 31.

The Royal Agrifirm Group announced the acquisition on 30 June. Now that the Polish authorities have granted their approval, Agrifirm will gain full control over Bacutil and the company will further expand its activities in Poland. "The acquisition of Bacutil gives us access to the poultry market in eastern Poland. This will allow us to grow further in this area and bring us one step closer to our goal of reaching a position in the top 3 in the Polish agricultural sector." says John Dortmans, Agrifirm's director for Central and Eastern Europe.

National coverage
The company has 5 production sites in Poland: Szamotuły, Topola Wielka, Margońska Wieś, Płośnica and Bedlno Radzyńskie. "This allows us to achieve national coverage in all major agricultural areas." Bacutil will merge into Agrifirm in the coming months.

Contribution to mission
The acquisition of Bacutil contributes to Agrifirm's mission to deliver relevant, measurable and sustainable value to its customers by providing them with high-quality feed concepts and advice.
