ADM pumps money into growth of GMO-free soy production

To meet the growing demand in Europe, ADM is investing in the production of GMO-free high-protein soy flour. It is not known how much money the company is pumping into the Straubing site in southern Germany.

Archer Daniels Midland Company, sees a steady increase in demand for GMO-free soybean meal from European soybeans. With the production of GMO-free protein-rich soybean meal, the group expects to better respond to the needs of the poultry, dairy and pig markets. 

Arable farmers can include more soybeans in crop plans

Not the first expansion
Expanded earlier this year ADM its soy processing capacity in Spyck (near Kleve) has already been expanded. Over the past 12 months, the company has been working with farmers and European industry partners to create more growth and sales opportunities.

According to ADM Straubing director René van der Poel, it offers arable farmers from the region the opportunity to grow more GMO-free soy and to benefit from a new crop in the crop rotation.
