Another setback at Suiker Unie Vierverlaten

15 October 2017 - Clarisse van der Woude - 6 comments

About 10 days after the first outage, the supply of beet at Suiker Unie Vierverlaten came to a standstill again on Sunday. The broken conveyor belt is again the culprit.

The conveyor belt is the only belt that transports the beets from the trucks to the washing and shredding installation. Now this one is for the second time It was demolished, while this entire new installation was built last spring and summer, because the old system no longer worked.

Freight traffic comes to a standstill
The beet transport has come to a complete standstill. The outage is expected to be resolved in 2 days. In the meantime, the sugar factory has switched to thick juice to prevent installations from getting stuck if the sugar starts to stick. The campaign may take longer than expected due to the defect.

There were also problems in the other sugar factory in Dinteloord on 14 September. Then there was one Storing in the wash house.

I have received a letter that the planned delivery date is delayed by 8 days. I sit on the northern clay.
I have the idea that in the polders, for example, charging is reasonably in accordance with the schedule. Are we northerners then the victims of the disruptions?
