The beet campaign has been extended until the end of January

Campaign to the end of January
Cosun has now extended the beet campaign until the end of January, if everything goes according to plan. Partly because of the malfunctions, but partly also because of the extremely high yield. A lot more tons of beets have to be moved by the loading crews. A campaign that lasts 3 to 4 weeks longer than previously thought may mean covering for late delivery. On the other hand, growers can also receive a higher storage premium.

bird flu
The news about a new bird flu outbreak in Zeeland is closely monitored. A transport ban can restrict transport. Depositing beets in the yard of a poultry farm is therefore not permitted.

Sugar content equal
In the fifth campaign week, the sugar percentage remained at 16,6%. The average tare percentage is almost 11%. The WIN number rises to 90,8. Beets from Schouwen-Duiveland, Central Brabant, Texel and Groningen peat are the only ones to report sugar contents of 17% or more.
