Russia will help Syria rebuild the country. For example, the Russians are going to refurbish Syrian ports in order to be able to export Russian grain. This was announced by Dmitry Rogozin, Deputy Minister of Defense in Russia, during a visit to Syria.
The Russian Defense Ministry will soon send 4.000 tons of construction equipment to Syria. Rogozin says that Syrian ports are well suited to ship Russian grain. Especially now Russia one record revenue has harvested grain, additional outlets are desirable. The ports in Syria are a suitable base to serve countries in the Middle East.
Phosphate mines
The Russians will also help Syria to mine phosphate mines. Large phosphate reserves are stored in Syria, which, according to Rogozin, are interesting for export. After all, many countries are struggling with a phosphate shortage, is his motivation. The potential proceeds from this will be shared between Russian and Syrian companies.
