CZAV buys Agrifirm from Cebeco Granen

9 July 2020 - Redactie Boerenbusiness - 1 reaction

Cebeco Granen, a trading company in Rotterdam, will be wholly owned by CZAV. The purchase and sales cooperative from the south-west of the Netherlands is buying out Agrifirm. Both CZAV and Agrifirm both had a 50% interest in Cebeco Granen.

With retroactive effect, CZAV will now become the full owner of Cebeco Granen as of January 1, 2020, the two cooperatives have announced. According to the companies, the transaction does justice to daily practice. CZAV is increasingly collaborating with Cebeco Granen in the sale of its grains. Agrifirm has opted for a more direct market approach and therefore sells the grains directly to customers.

Future guaranteed
As a result, it is no longer logical for Agrifirm to remain a shareholder in Cebeco Granen, the companies explain in the statement. "The shareholders are of the opinion that this is the best way to guarantee the future of Cebeco Granen". Cebeco Granen has 5 employees. The company has a network of collectors and customers in Northwestern Europe.

The transaction will be submitted for approval to ACM and the CZAV works council.
