Beef prices have fallen slightly recently. This decline is expected to continue in the coming weeks. That has everything to do with the current holiday period.
Many slaughterhouses are currently running at a lower capacity due to the holidays or were completely closed last month. The supply at the slaughterhouses has also been relatively low in recent weeks. More livestock has been added this week, according to insiders, but that could also be due to a lack of capacity at other slaughterhouses. They expect everything to go back to normal after the holidays.
Insiders expect the price of o slaughter cows to be between $0,15 and $0,20 lower by the end of the week. This is due to the standard difficult beef sales in the months of July-August.
Low holiday sales
The low sales have everything to do with the holiday season. People are on their way abroad and according to market experts, those who stay at home buy less meat in the warm months. Inflation would not play a role in the low sales figures. In addition, the market also sees a decline in sales in France.
Selling prices are expected to recover in September and October.
