In total 925 hectares

Brabant agricultural land leased again

20 September 2017 - Niels van der Boom

Interested parties can still bid for more than a week on 925 hectares of leased land, which the province of North Brabant is opening up for public tender. Since the beginning of this month, it is possible to bid on clusters of leased land. It is the same package as was offered last year.

The offer will be available from September 5th Pachtbank.nl† The online registration of leased land in North Brabant started last year after the Green Development Fund Brabant took over the lease issue from the province. Most of the land falls within the Brabant Nature Network. Last year the package for lease year 2017 was also offered, with a term of 1 year.

The conditions have been changed on a number of points

New conditions
Interested parties have time to register until Friday 29 September 12:00. The terms and conditions of use are largely the same as this year. Changes have been made in the field of sustainability points, for switching agricultural entrepreneurs, and the soil passport. This means that the conditions are no longer the same as last year. The land will therefore be relisted for the 2018 lease year. The offer is therefore largely the same as in 2017.

soil passport
The soil passport is an application from ZLTO. Fill in your data online about the soil quality at plot level. That is the basis for a soil management plan. Hopefully, by registering soil fertility, awareness will be generated. In the case of lease, it must guarantee the information about the soil.

Money is not the most important
The Green Development Fund Brabant does not only look at the highest lease price per hectare, it says. Water management, dealing with soil fertility and improving biodiversity are also taken into account. The highest bid therefore does not guarantee ownership of the land. A watertight plan can carry more weight.
