North Holland is going to lease 1.700 hectares

The province of Noord-Holland reports on Wednesday 17 April that it will lease no less than 1 hectares from 2019 November 31 to 2020 December 1.700. The province writes this in a press release.

The province of North Holland writes that it will again lease agricultural land for the period 1 November 2019 to 31 December 2020. It concerns 1.700 hectares. These lands are temporarily leased in anticipation of sale, nature development or the construction of various roads.

Multiple conditions
Leasing these lands is only possible under strict conditions. For example, the tenant farmers have to take nature into account; for example by laying flower-rich herb strips along arable land. Preference is also given to farmers who are working on certificates in the field of sustainable agriculture. 

The plots that fall under the Nature Network of the Netherlands (NNN) have different requirements. Here, for example, no fertilizer may be used. It is also necessary to sow on some soils with a special mixture, in order to meadow birdsattract insects and/or butterflies. 

Agricultural entrepreneurs who are interested can register from 1 May 2019. the website look at the grounds. The requirements for the various grounds are also published there. You can register for grounds from 1 May to 31 May.
