RVB offers 845 hectares of leased land

June 3, 2019 - Niels van der Boom - 2 comments

Central government real estate company reports to offer 845 hectares for deregulated lease. This concerns 42 lots, spread over the Noordoostpolder, Eastern Flevoland and Wieringermeer. Full details about the plots and further information will be released in early August.

In total, this concerns slightly more land than was the case last year, when the Central Government Real Estate Agency offered 715 hectares. The lot information can soon be found again on Biedboek.nl.

Long-term lease form
All lots have an agricultural destination. The location, information and details for registration will be announced by the Central Government Real Estate Agency at the beginning of August. Incidentally, it has already been announced that this is a liberalized lease. Earlier, the Central Government Real Estate Agency spoke about the issue of ground leases, because there is a lot of criticism about the way of leasing. In the past, sky-high amounts were often commanded for leased land.

During a meeting of the Flevolands Agricultural Youth Contact (FAJK) last year, the employees of the Central Government Real Estate Agency discussed this way of leasing. Back then it was still said that non-strategic lands are leased issued, instead of liberalized leases. However, the Central Government Real Estate Agency uses 2020 as the deadline, while the government is aiming for 2019. Minister Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) is also positive about this change.

Research
Boerenbusiness and DCA-Markets conducted a survey into the land market in the Netherlands in 2018. This revealed, among other things, that tenant farmers in particular want to expand in leased land. All conclusions can be found in this series with articles.

Dear people,

Can a Flemish farmer also apply, and in what way?
Sincerely, with kind regards,
