Farmers in demand because of the PAS

21 August 2019 - Wouter Baan - 5 comments

Entrepreneurs who saw their construction projects stranded due to the ruling on the Nitrogen Approach Program (PAS) are diligently looking for alternatives. The idea is to gain nitrogen space by buying up farms, writes the Financieele Dagblad (FD).

Not only the agricultural sector, but also the construction and infrastructure have been greatly affected by the decision of the Council of State. Lambert Polinder of Agrifirm states that companies in these sectors are therefore looking into whether the nitrogen capacity of the discontinuing farms can be taken over in order to avoid delays in construction projects.

LTO Nederland recognizes itself in this. Director Trienke Elshof says in the newspaper: "It is not the case that project developers drive onto the farmyard, but we do hear from advisers that they are orienting themselves."

Pronunciation has major consequences
The Netherlands has 166 Natura 2000 areas, which means that the ruling has consequences in many places. For example, the widening of the A27 will not take place for the time being. A large housing project in Roermond has also been put on hold. In addition, more than 3.000 farms are checkmate. For example, the Limburg court recently annulled 38 licenses granted by livestock farms in the province.

An advisory committee, led by former politician Johan Remkes, has been appointed by the government to come up with recommendations and solutions. Minister Carola Schouten (Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality) also indicated this week that the evaluation of the PAS will be brought forward. This was planned between July 2020 and July 2021, but the minister will start working on it earlier.

It seems that the Netherlands is ruled by a handful of environmental idiots. Strange that the regulations make something like this possible.
See if so many will vote for Mr. Klaver and his friends, if they have lost their job and a lot of money because of these crazy people.

If a warm remediation can take place on a large scale in this way, that should sound good to many, because there are countless possibilities and opportunities overseas. Something to think about I think.
Legislation will now first have to be amended in order to be able to transfer nitrogen space from the agricultural sector to construction or infrastructure. The Remkes Committee is now busy investigating this, among other things.

The pass is nonsense, such a thing only exists in the Netherlands across the border, that nonsense does not exist, it now appears that the government has gone crazy with their nitrogen. I bet they want to reduce the livestock. I can imagine that farmers want to emigrate
