An arable farm in Groningen has been sold for €21,5 million. The company, which changed hands upon registration, owns 265 hectares of land. It concerns the peat-colonial company Landbouwonderneming Westerwolde in Veelerveen. The buyer has not been made public.
It is not often that such a large company is sold in one go. The company has a 1 hectare house lot and a 236 hectare field lot. The house plot is located behind the company in Veelerveen and has its own plot path.
Windmill plans
The farm has an indoor seed potato storage with mechanical cooling of 350 square meters. There is also a potato shed with space for 2.100 tons of potatoes and a grain storage for 200 to 250 tons. The company was listed with 252 payment entitlements, 3.880 LLBs and 277 Avebe shares. The company was owned by the German Westermann family. The land is partly eligible for plans with wind turbines.

Oh yeah? you can hardly grow fusarium-free onions anywhere in the bud. Land subsidence is also becoming a major problem and nothing is being done about it.
