The red figures in the milk supply underline the problems that dairy farmers experience due to an excessive amount of precipitation. Although in most of the country the amount of rainfall was welcome and is a good catalyst for grass growth.

The total milk supply from January to November amounts to 18,48 million tons of milk. A minus of 1,5 percent compared to a year earlier. This means that 2014 remains a record year for New Zealand milk supply.
