Thanks to a higher price for protein, the milk price of Vreugdenhil was able to increase in the last month of 2016. The prices of fat and protein move sideways in January, but dairy farmers can expect a higher payout price, thanks to increased premiums and bonuses.
In January, Vreugdenhil sets the prices of fat and protein per kilo at 3 euros for fat and 6,20 euros for protein. The lateral movements are made in a market that, according to the dairy processor, feels stable. Vreugdenhil also predicts a stable market for the coming months, although it remains difficult to make a prediction.
The milk price, for an annual supply of 600.000 kilos, is 35,54 euros per 100 kilos. An annual delivery of 800.000 kilos is rewarded with a milk price of 35,81 euros, while a delivery of 1,1 million kilos or more is paid 36,09 euros. These prices include a winter surcharge of 3,90 euros per kilo, but exclude surcharges. However, there will be a ZuivelNL levy of 0,23 euros per 100 kilos.
At the start of the new year, Vreugdenhil will make changes to the allowances. For example, sustainability is rewarded with a premium that can amount to 0,60 per 100 kilos, while the premium for grazing is 1,50 euros. Collectively, this premium can amount to 2,10 euros. Previously, this premium was a maximum of one euro. The quality premium will also be increased and will be 1,25 euros per 100 kilos from January. This is an increase of 50 cents. A
