No decrease, but a slight increase in the Dutch milk supply in January. This means that more milk was supplied compared to December and that the plus was achieved outside FrieslandCampina. An analysis for the insiders of Milk & Feed.
Milk supply increased again in January, after a stable supply in December. Compared to a year earlier by 1 percent, against a plus of 1,9 percent compared to December. FrieslandCampina announced earlier that it did not see an increase in milk supply compared to December. It means that the plus in the milk supply was achieved at the other milk processors.
These will only join the phosphate reduction via LU scheme from 1 March. It is still difficult to estimate what the consequences will be for companies. Will cattle be sent to Germany or Belgium, how many stop and where do they opt for fewer dairy cows or do dairy farmers opt for a smaller number of young stock?
For now, the January result also gives a view of more milk in February. Dairy farmers apparently seize the opportunity to bring in a little extra turnover.
