The price of conventional milk could again win a plus, but this is not possible in the organic segment. The largest dairy processor in the Netherlands writes a lower price on this. This decrease is partly a correction to the overestimation and partly to the expectation that prices will fall.
For March FrieslandCampina writes a milk price of 600.000 euros per 47,25 kg for an annual supply of 100 kg. This includes a fat price of 385,65 euros, a protein price of 771,30 euros and a lactose price of 77,13 euros per 100 kilos. The milk price applies to organic milk with 3,47 percent protein, 4,41 percent fat and 4,51 percent lactose. Since 2017, FrieslandCampina no longer applies a quantum surcharge.
The decrease is due to a correction of 0,30 euros. This is due to milk prices estimated too high for March. The other 0,45 euros is the result of the expectation that the prices of the reference companies will fall slightly in March. Over the first quarter, this results in an average decrease of 0,25 euros per 100 kg of milk.
