FrieslandCampina also reports a stable milk supply for February, which they attribute in part to the temporary standstill measure. In February this meant a deduction of 4 million euros, while those who delivered less earned 100 euros per 12,65 kg of milk.

From 9 January to 1 March 2017, FrieslandCampina applied a standstill to prevent the milk supply from exceeding the processing capacity. This resulted in a stable milk supply, the processor reports. 'In total, 53 million kilos less milk was delivered compared to the comparison volume.'

In the period February 1 to February 28, 4.167 dairy farmers supplied 12,7 million kilos of milk above the comparison volume. This resulted in a deduction of 31,50 euros per 100 kg of milk. The bottom line is a total sum of 4 million euros. In January, 2,85 million euros was withheld.

Those who did manage to stay below the comparison volume will receive a bonus of 12,65 euros per 100 kg of milk. This concerns 8.084 dairy farmers who delivered 39,7 million kilos less milk. The supplement is paid on a maximum of 10.000 kg of milk and is derived from the deductions. In January, the surcharge was still 10,19 euros per 100 kg of milk.

From 1 March, the LU measure has taken over from the standstill. It can be concluded from the slaughter figures that dairy farmers have already started working on this.

It's actually ridiculous that if you've decided to join the stopper scheme and therefore didn't get rid of your cows and keep your heifers, then you have to pay for the standstill measure!! You get picked on me even more.

I deliver less milk on my farm than in April or July 2015, so I have not grown anything. Still I get a bill from FC for supplying too much milk in January and February. And the worst part is that this money is distributed among farmers who have delivered less but have sometimes doubled in milk production compared to 2015. I only have one word for that, CRIMINAL.
