Queue for slaughter cows is steadily getting longer

The number of broiler cows and the weight make it clear that dairy farmers are continuing to select at full throttle. Will the record of week 8 be broken or not? In the meantime, the question is whether the slaughter capacity is up to the task that the government and sector have placed on dairy farmers.

This is why the prices of cows for slaughter are under pressure, while the pig market is holding up. No further increase in the number of slaughters in week 9, but a lower average weight does make it clear that the large flow really comes from dairy farming.

In week 9 the number of slaughters amounts to 17.268 heads, with an average weight of 309,78 kg. It brings the total number of slaughters for 2017 to 142.829 head. It brings the lead compared to a year earlier to 38,50 percent.
