Where the Dutch milk processors manage to keep the milk price under control or even increase it slightly, Milcobel is adapting to the market. You can read what it means for the milk price in February in an analysis of Boerenbusiness Milk.
For February, the protein price will drop to 565,22 euros per kg, against a fat price of 304,35 euros per kg. This results in a standard price of EUR 32 per 100 liters and in Belgium a real paid milk price of EUR 35,05 per 100 liters of milk. Converted to Dutch values, the milk price for an annual supply of 600.000 kg of milk with 4,41 percent fat and 3,47 percent protein is 36,42 euros per 100 kg of milk.
Despite the decrease, the milk price is still at a level above the Dutch milk prices. Even Cono pays slightly less for February due to the end of the winter allowance. Milcobel says: 'with this real milk price level paid, Milcobel is still maintaining its previously achieved good position within the European dairy environment.'
